Lightweight and powerful machine

If you were just looking for a gaming laptop, there is one more model, from MSI, you'll need to check out before making your decision on which platform will run your favorite titles in the times to come. This portable system is dedicated to those of you that need high performance at its best while maintaining a low profile, without bulky shapes and sizes.

The 17-inch gaming notebook that MSI recently made available is called GE700 and runs on an Intel Core i5 processor. The system also uses a dual-hard disk architecture, with two 500 GB hard drives being supported, which should provide enough space for you to store your favorite multimedia content.

The graphic card it uses is a next-gen HD 5730 with 1 GB DDR3 VRAM capable of supporting DirectX 11. This means that it is also 3D capable, of course, and that future games will not have any problems running on this portable gaming station.

It uses MSI's proprietary technologies like the ECO Engine Power Saving tech, Cinema Pro and GPU Boost. These will come in handy for serious movie watching and some power savings whenever its six- or nine-cell battery has almost run out of juice. About the serious movie watching thing I was mentioning earlier, this GE700 offers its own x2 Theater Class speakers and a subwoofer. It screen is also a 17.3-inch HD TFT LCD. Even its integrated webcam is HD.

The Windows 7 Home Premium running laptop comes with a Super Multi or Blu-ray optical drive, depending on the user's choice and the storage drive options start at 250 GB. Bluetooth is optional, but the Wi-Fi 802.11 n is integrated in the core configuration. It supports up to 4 GB of RAM memory.

Weighing just 3.2 kg and with a brushed silver finish, this GE700 from MSI is a good contender in the world of gaming laptops if you take into consideration its specs. Now about the pricing and availability, MSI recommends that everybody should check according to location.
